Since 1968, the Society has sponsored an annual one-day Spring Conference featuring well-known speakers on a variety of topics.  In fall 2014, LGHS initiated an annual half-day workshop on folklife and ethnic culture in different sections of the state.  The workshops are held in Baton Rouge at a location that is convenient to the Interstate, hotels, restaurants, and sites of interest.
